Privacy Policy

Dataembed is an open-source web research tool. This page describes what the hosted version at dataembed.com collects and why. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.

What we collect

If you create an account, we store your email address and name (from email signup or GitHub OAuth) so you can sign in and keep your websets.

We store the websets you create: your queries, the criteria and columns the agent plans, and the results it finds.

If you use Dataembed without an account, we store a hashed version of your IP address. It's used only to enforce anonymous rate limits, and we can't recover the original address from it.

Where your queries go

Running a webset sends your search queries to third-party search providers — Exa, Parallel, Firecrawl, and model providers via the Vercel AI Gateway. Each provider handles that data under its own privacy policy. Your account details are never shared with them.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, show ads, or use cross-site tracking. The only cookie we set is the session cookie that keeps you signed in.

Deleting your data

Open an issue on GitHub or contact us and we'll delete your account and everything associated with it. If you'd rather nothing touch our servers at all, Dataembed is open source and self-hostable.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions or requests: open an issue on GitHub.
